SEPHORA VIB SALE PICKS 2019

I’ve rounded up and gathered my top Sephora picks which I continue to love and repurchase every time! Lets get started-

I’m going to start with skincare, because those of you that know me- know that skincare is my favourite and I have an extensive skincare routine most of the time. I have combination skin that leans more to the dry side, and I deal with closed comedones, hormonal cystic pimples from time to time because of my Endometriosis, and light/very mild atrophic scarring. These skincare products that I have tried and tested for years that have really helped my skin and I have kept them in my skincare routine for this exact reason.

1 – Drunk Elephant NightBright Resurfacing Duo and the Drunk Elephant Rise+Glow Brightening Duo.

I have definitely spoken about Drunk Elephant a lot on my blog, youtube channel and social media because it is the one brand that really transformed my skin. I have used all of their products at least once, and can accurately say that they are worth the price tag (besides the Beste Jelly Cleanser, which I feel didn’t do much for me). These 2 sets are great for resurfacing the skin. The NightBright duo has TLC Framboos in it which is a great AHA/BHA to apply to your skin at night (I apply it every other night), which helps with acne scarring, resurfacing and light exfoliation of the skin. This is a chemical exfoliator which is great for exfoliation without harsh physical elements. This duo also comes with the Virgin Marula Oil which is my FAVOURITE Drunk Elephant product to exist. It is soooo nourishing and dewy on the skin, and if you deal with dry skin or rough patches on the face, then this Is definitely the oil for you- especially at night time. I love to layer this on top of the TLC Framboos at night and head to bed knowing that my skin is exfoliated and hydrated at the same time.

The 2nd duo, Rise+Glow Brightening Duo is great for people who deal with acne scarring, hyper pigmentation or dull skin/uneven skin tone. It comes with a great Vitamin C serum, which I use every morning right after rinsing my face with water. It also comes with a super hydrating Vitamin B serum (conveniently named B-Hydra) which I apply right after the Vitamin C. This is almost like a moisture booster, because I apply it right underneath my daily moisturizer and daily SPF for the day and it really seals in the hydration to my skin all day. Great for dry skin, or if your skin needs that extra sip of water in the fall/winter months. I love to use this year round!

2- Origins Retexturizing Face Mask with Rose Clay

I absolutely looove this clay mask for its texture properties! I normally use this mask 1-2 times per week for about 10 minutes at a time, and it does a great job of pulling impurities out of the skin because of the rose clay, but when you go to rinse it off it contains a mild buffing/ exfoliating agent which is great for buffing off that top layer of dull, dead skin. This is where the retexturing promise really comes in. Plus its pink! Who could ask for more.

3- The Ordinary Niacinamide

I’ll admit, it took me a couple of months to really start incorporating this into my skincare routine. I thought that it was the source of my breakouts on my skin for a little while, so I steered clear of it, but I reintroduced it back into my routine about 3 months ago as a spot treatment and began to use less product on my face. This has been great in aiding to get rid of dark spots, hyper pigmentation and reducing the appearance of mild scarring on my forehead. Less is definitely more with this product.

4- Summer Fridays Jetlag Mask

This mask was amazinggggg on the plane ride to Ecuador in March. I use this mask whenever my skin needs a pick-me-up hydration wise, and it’s great for long trips because your skin can get really dry, especially on a plane. I find that using this mask once a week has really helped my moisture barrier and it sits really comfortably on the skin, sometimes I forget I have a mask on and not a moisturizer! You can totally use this as both an overnight mask, or a mask that you leave on for a duration of time (flight, train ride) and then remove after to quench the thirst of your skin.

5- Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol

Did you think you would get away with just ONE set of Drunk Elephant products in this review? No way lol. I absolutely LOVE the Drunk Elephant A-Passioni. It is a pretty penny, but absolutely worth it in my opinion. This is the product that has transformed my skin, calmed my breakouts and cystic pimples, and helped to even out my skin tone, as well as help greatly with any acne scarring or other scarring on the face. If you only choose one Drunk Elephant product, please choose this one! I started by using this product only once a week- about 2 years ago. Now I use it every other night (alternating with my BHA/AHA TLC Framboos) and the difference I have seen in my skin is like a miracle. It is smoother and I could totally rock wearing no makeup on a regular basis if I wanted to- that’s how great it is! Be careful with this product, as it is 0.1% Retinol which is pretty high for an over the counter retinoid, but as long as you work your way up with it on your skin it will be just fine. Remember that Retinol is a Vitamin A product which means that your skin will need sunscreen EVERY DAY. And if you’re applying it at night like I do, then make sure to realllllyyy moisturize your face because it can lead to peeling or intense dryness to the skin if used improperly or too often. This will also help if you’re struggling with fine lines and wrinkles as it targets the dermal layers of the skin. Overall my favourite product ever!

6- IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream

If you watch my Youtube channel, you’ll know that I have been using this CC Cosmetics Foundation for the past 1.5 years to try and step away from my MAC Mineral foundation. For a long while, I thought it had replaced it- but I truly do love both so much lol. I don’t think I could give up my MAC Powder even if I tried. But this CC Cream is a great medium- full coverage foundation, especially for special occasions! It’s also SPF 50 which is great, but remember not to solely rely on your makeup for SPF- Always use a physical SPF in your daily routine. I am in a shade Medium in this CC Cream for reference!

7- Christophe Robin Purifying Scalp Scrub

WOW- just WOW. I have been using this product since March of this year (2019) and have been dealing with dry scalp for 4-5 years. This scalp scrub is something I use in the shower, right after I have shampooed my entire head and rinsed it out. I take a small amount of this scrub and scrub my scalp, especially the top of my head and rinse it out before applying conditioner to my hair. This stuff is amazing! I rarely even see those little pieces of dry scalp or dandruff anymore- it has almost completely reversed dry scalp for me! If you’re someone who struggles with dry scalp or dandruff or even just an irritated scalp that flakes sometimes, then this stuff is definitely for you. It’s not a bad price for the amount you get, and you don’t need much product for it to actually work at getting rid of flakes so you end up with quite a bit of product for the price you pay. This is a MUST in my Sephora VIB Sale picks!

8- Glow Recipe Sleep Mask

You guys know I loooove me some skin hydration! This stuff is amazing and I’ve been using it for about 2 years now. I alternate with this every 2nd-3rd night in my skincare routine, and I often layer it on top of my nightly retinol or my nightly acid for the night. I slather a thick layer on my skin as the last step in my routine (after serums, acids, and all moisturizers). I then let it dry before I hit my pillow- watch some youtube videos, read, talk on the phone, clean my room- and then I sleep in it! The next morning I rinse my face with just water to take it all off and my skin is baby smooth the next day with no rough or dry patches! Love this stuff, and it comes in a mini version if you’re hesitant or just want to try it out first.

9- Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream

This stuff is literally body cream heaven in a jar. Why is it sooooo expensiveeeee. I wish it wasn’t, but it’s still totally worth it in my opinion. This is amazing for your whole entire body, specifically your butt and legs because it’s just so comfortable and creamy. I love to apply this after a shower and just soak in the hydration that smells like a tropical vacation. Love it.

10- Youth To The People Adaptogen Cream

This Adaptogen cream is great! I found that this really kept my cystic pimples away and kept my hormonal pimples at bay. It is a bit oily, and so I feel like I sometimes need to blot my face during the day when using this moisturizer but it’s the most perfect fall/winter moisturizer to me because of it’s hydration properties. This is great for anyone experiencing redness on the skin, because of the pentapeptides involved in this face cream. It is on the pricier side, but if you’re looking for a super hydrating moisturizer that will help with redness and fine lines then this is a good one.

11- Juice Beauty SPF 30 Moisturizer

This is my daily during-the-day moisturizer! I love this stuff and its a constant repurchase for me. It’s light but moisturizing, its a built in sunscreen and I don’t even need to reapply it during the day. I went on vacation in March and the sun looked like it didn’t even hit my face (my body was literally tanned and my face was not). So this stuff is strong but great! Juice Beauty is also apart of Sephora Clean which means it’s ingredients are lesser than other products and the ingredients that are use, are clean and skin-safe for sensitive skin. There’s not really a particular smell to this, which is great, and it doesn’t provide flashback either! Highly recommend as your daily spf/ moisturizer all in one. Another great one is the Juice Beauty Sport Sunscreen if you’re super active during the day!

12- Laneige Lip Sleep Mask

This is another favourite of mine, as I get dry lips especially in the fall and winter! I apply a nice amount of this to my lips at night and wash/wipe it off in the morning and my lips feel amazingggg. I LOVE this stuff and it will also alway be a constant repurchase for me, especially because of the grapefruit smell! This is great for using before a special event the next day (wedding, birthday, event etc.) Because it’s also like a built in lipstick primer for your lips, because it makes them super soft and ready for any type of lip application! It’s a little small but the product goes a long way, and I’m still on my same small container since May of this year (2019)
